Uterine fibroids, a benign tumor that worries many women after 30 years, today have become quite “younger” and have grown into problem No. 1 for many representatives of the fair sex. But despite the rather serious description, it can still be cured with traditional medications, but only in the right combination with old folk methods. So many herbalists have proven that calendula tincture for uterine fibroids is an excellent, time-tested and trustworthy remedy. Our article will tell you about the properties and how to drink calendula for fibroids.
Description of the disease
Uterine fibroids are a fairly common disease of the female reproductive system. According to statistics, up to 25% of women over the age of 35 have one or more fibroids.
The reasons for the development of the disease are still not entirely clear. It is reliably known that the appearance of nodes is preceded by a hormonal imbalance. In addition, there must be facts that influence the appearance of fibroids - manipulations with the uterus that violate its integrity or inflammatory processes in the reproductive system. An important factor is genetic predisposition.
Myoma nodes are benign in nature and transition to a malignant form is unlikely. At its core, fibroids are a node, most often located in the myometrium of the uterus. However, there are other places where the disease is localized. Depending on the shape and location of the node, there is a classification of fibroids. They all differ in their symptoms.
But almost all types of fibroids at the initial stage of their development do not have pronounced symptoms. This makes it very difficult to detect the disease. Often, fibroids are diagnosed accidentally, during a routine ultrasound or during pregnancy.
If the stage of development is already quite serious, then pain in the lower abdomen, heavy and prolonged menstruation, discharge during the intermenstrual period, as well as disturbances in the functioning of nearby organs will be observed.
Most often, for fibroids, drug treatment based on hormonal drugs is prescribed. Surgery is extremely rare - only if the fibroid is large and interferes with life, or when planning a pregnancy. Hormonal drugs are often prescribed as part of complex treatment, which in addition to them includes drugs that increase immunity and combat symptoms. Herbal remedies can be prescribed, one of which is calendula for uterine fibroids - the reviews left about it are mostly positive.

Where does fibroid come from and how to treat it?
Although the main factor causing the formation of uterine fibroids is considered to be hormonal imbalance, this benign tumor often occurs for other reasons. These can be various diseases, injury during medical interventions, and even recurring monthly menstruation. Since nature provides for no more than fifty of them, but in fact, women with one or two children have tens of times more periods. And during menstruation, the body, tuned to pregnancy and not receiving it, experiences a colossal shock, which is repeated from month to month, which also does not benefit the woman’s reproductive organs.
The possibilities of modern medicine make it possible to save a woman from the resulting pathological condition, using various methods in the form of drug therapy, traditional methods of herbal medicine, minimally invasive manipulations and surgery. Thanks to these methods, fibroids can be reduced, their condition can be stabilized, their growth can be stopped, and they can also be removed. In this capacity the following is used:
- Embolization of the uterine arteries with clogging of the vessels feeding the fibroid.
- Myomectomy is the removal of fibroid nodes, which uses two types of operations:
- laparoscopic method using a small incision;
- laparotomy, using abdominal surgery.
- Application of high-frequency ultrasound with focused directional non-contact impact.
Beneficial properties of calendula
This herb has been known as medicinal since ancient times. It has the following properties:
- diuretic,
- diaphoretic,
- astringent,
- anti-inflammatory,
- blood purifying,
- disinfectant.
Calendula in the form of ointments and creams is used as anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial agents. Such drugs are good for burns, cuts, and acne. The decoction helps with diseases of the throat and gums if used as a gargle, as well as with nasal congestion if the sinuses are rinsed.
For the treatment of gynecological diseases, calendula is used in the form of lotions and douching. For these pathologies, preparations based on this herb are practically not taken orally. But for the treatment of liver diseases, gastritis and ulcers, oral administration helps.
Doctor's opinion
According to doctors, the use of medicinal herbs, including calendula, is of great importance in the case of young nulliparous women who have small fibroids and their slow development. Treatment with this plant allows you to stop the growth of the tumor and suppress the activity of the pathological process. The use of calendula as part of medicinal preparations is especially effective, where the plants are selected in such a way that they increase the therapeutic effect of each other and complement it. However, despite the fact that in this way it is possible to preserve a woman’s reproductive abilities, you should not rely entirely on the therapeutic effect of herbal remedies; everything is good in the complex. To ensure that the measures taken are appropriate, you should consult with a specialist and under no circumstances self-medicate.
How does calendula affect fibroids?
One of the properties of calendula that is useful for uterine fibroids is the ability to resolve tumors. Moreover, it does not matter in which part of the body this tumor is localized.
For uterine fibroids, calendula alcohol tincture is most often used. But it is possible to use decoctions and ointments based on the flowers of the plant. All of these drugs are non-toxic, so the maximum dosage is often determined by the doctor depending on the body's response to the drug.
In their reviews, doctors say that treating fibroids with calendula is a rather lengthy process. Typically, when taking drugs systematically, the course duration is from 1 to 3 months.
Calendula for fibroids is used not only as an independent remedy, but also as part of various preparations.
Such preparations help improve the general condition of the body, increase appetite and have a beneficial effect on the immune system.
For uterine fibroids, the combination of calendula with the following plants helps:
- knotweed,
- oregano,
- horsetail,
- rose hip,
- blackberry,
- nettle,
- celandine,
- peppermint,
- yarrow,
- harmal,
- mistletoe.
Can it be used for fibroids?
The plant contains alcohols and sterols. Their structure resembles cholesterol. Once in the digestive tract, they are absorbed by the intestinal walls instead of cholesterol, thereby reducing its level in the body. Thanks to this, immunity increases, the body quickly fights various diseases.
Calenduloside B effectively heals ulcers and has an anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, other substances from calendula remove poisons and toxins from the body and prevent the occurrence of cancer. And existing benign neoplasms decrease in size.
Fluoride contained in flowers prevents the formation of atypical cells, increases the resistance of the immune system and improves heart function. It promotes increased hematopoiesis, while the tumor is not supplied with blood, as a result of which its cells die due to lack of oxygen.
Forms of use of caledula
There are several forms of using both calendula alone and various combinations with it in the composition for the treatment of fibroids.
Use internally as a tincture or herbal tea
Most often, taking calendula in this form is recommended for women during menopause.
Baths with tincture or decoction of calendula
For them, you can prepare the product yourself or buy a ready-made tincture at the pharmacy. This form of treatment will penetrate the active substances internally and also affect the organs of the reproductive system from the outside.
Douching
Calendula for fibroids is often prescribed in this form. It provides a good antibacterial effect on the genitals. But at the same time, douching can wash out beneficial microflora from the vagina.
Candles
Such products are sold at the pharmacy and are ready for use. This form is quite convenient for treating fibroids, as it acts specifically on the area where the disease is localized. In this case, the beneficial microflora is not washed out, as can happen when douching. The disadvantages of this form of preparations are that when the candles melt, they can stain the laundry.
Tampons
They are similar in their effect to suppositories, but do not dissolve in the vagina, so women in their reviews recommend removing them with special care.
Other traditional methods of treating fibroids
In addition to calendula, traditional healers use other methods of treating uterine fibroids. Herbalists recommend placing tampons with finely grated white onions into the vagina. The course of treatment is about four months.
According to “healers,” beekeeping products are useful for diseases of the female reproductive organs. Suppositories are made from propolis, which are placed in the vagina before bed. Treatment is continued for 5 days and repeated after a five-day break.
For fibroids, you can use tampons well soaked in fish oil. Tampons soaked in melted goose fat and calendula decoction are useful. Hirudotherapy cleanses the blood in case of fibroids and promotes the resorption of nodes.
The partitions of the walnuts are poured with vodka and left to infuse for 2 weeks in a cool, dark place. Drink 20 ml tincture three times a day until the formations in the uterus disappear. Instead of walnuts, use pine nut shells. Our experts recommend using reliable methods of modern medicine. Only a doctor, taking into account the patient’s characteristics, can select effective therapy.
Popular recipes
Women who have cured fibroids with calendula often share a variety of recipes in their reviews. Therefore, a fairly large number of proven ways to combat this disease have accumulated.
- Calendula infusion is one of the simplest recipes for fibroids. To prepare it, take 40 g of dried and crushed plants (flowers, stems, leaves) and pour two glasses of hot water. This whole mixture is infused for 12 hours, then filtered. You should drink the infusion half a glass twice a day. But the duration of such a course of treatment is determined by the gynecologist.
- Alcohol tincture of calendula is prepared from dried flowers and 70% alcohol, which are taken in a ratio of 1:10. This mixture should be infused in a dark place or in a container with darkened glass for approximately 1.5 weeks. After this, the tincture is filtered and ready for use. You should drink 15 drops before meals. You need to take the tincture for about one month.
- A decoction of calendula is prepared for baths. Take 2 tablespoons of dried herbs and add two liters of hot water. After this, the broth is cooled to room temperature or slightly warmer and is ready for use. It is better to select the temperature of the baths based on your feelings. Before taking a bath with calendula decoction, it is advisable to wash yourself with soap. You should stay in such a bath for about half an hour.
- For douching, you can use the decoction described above. You can make it in a slightly lower concentration. The optimal time for douching is the evening, since the therapeutic effect will be consolidated better if the body is in a supine position. The active substances of the plant will penetrate the uterine wall much more intensively and help reduce fibroids.

Other folk remedies
Women who have been diagnosed with uterine fibroids try to use various methods to rid themselves of the unpleasant symptoms of the disease and ease its course. It is important to consult a doctor in a timely manner and, with his help, choose the right direction for the upcoming treatment. There are quite a few areas of alternative medicine that have proven their effectiveness in the treatment of benign tumor processes. In addition to medicinal plants, other substances and products are widely used in this quality, namely:
- A fairly effective remedy for fibroids is a drink made from goat milk with goat fat. For treatment, it is recommended to take a glass of this milk with a tablespoon of fat.
- The drink will be more effective if several cloves of garlic are added to it, due to which the product has a resolving effect on the fibroid nodes.
- Goose fat, which together with calendula is used to impregnate tampons, also has similar properties. A composition of 5 parts fat and one part calendula flowers is heated over low heat for half an hour, then filtered and used for tampons. They are placed overnight, the course of treatment lasts three times for ten days with weekly breaks.
- Tampons with fish oil help well with myomatous nodes, thanks to which small nodes can completely resolve.
- Ginger root helps restore hormonal levels, has an antimicrobial and immunostimulating effect, which is extremely important for the fight against fibroids. However, this remedy should not be used in case of heavy uterine bleeding.
Medicinal herbs and plants, which are successfully used in traditional medicine recipes for the treatment of fibroids, have received great recognition from both doctors and patients, namely:
Hog queen
This plant is used both separately and as part of a collection in the treatment of fibroids. Decoctions or infusions are prepared from it, often together with red brush. It is not difficult to prepare an infusion with alcohol, for which 40 grams of raw material is poured with 400 ml of vodka and infused for fourteen days. Take the resulting product 30 drops three times a day.
Red brush
The red brush can relieve painful spasms and has many healing properties that have a beneficial effect on the body during the formation of fibroids. It is not used in treatment with hormonal drugs, since this plant has the properties of a natural hormone. It is used in the form of a root decoction or tincture.
Potato
Potato juice is considered one of the safest means for treating fibroids, and it has a positive effect on many organs and systems of the human body. The juice is obtained using a juicer or by first grating the tuber and squeezing the juice through a gauze cloth. Take 100 ml in the morning on an empty stomach, after which you do not eat for half an hour.
Celandine
This plant is considered poisonous, so it must be used with caution. The juice is squeezed out of it and combined with honey and vodka, and you can take twice as much honey. After infusion for a week, take the resulting product one spoon three times a day. Treatment continues for three months.
Chaga
This birch mushroom is widely used in the treatment of various diseases; it is especially popular in recipes intended to eliminate tumors. The extract of this mushroom can be bought in finished form, as well as preparations based on it. You can also prepare your own medicine from crushed mushrooms brewed with boiling water. After soaking the mushroom in it for six hours, it is ground in a meat grinder, the water where the soaking took place is heated to 60 degrees, the mushroom crumbs are poured in and left for two days. Take a tablespoon in the morning and evening.
Motherwort decoction
It is better to take motherwort as part of a collection along with other herbs in the form of St. John's wort, nettle, string, valerian, mint, adding hawthorn berries and rose hips. Pour a liter of boiling water over everything, leave for half a day and take twice a day.
Burdock root
Burdock for fibroids can eliminate menstrual irregularities, for which 20 grams of crushed roots are kept on low heat in 200 ml of water, not allowing it to boil. Take half a glass four times during the day.
Contraindications
Since it is not recommended to start drinking calendula or taking it in any other form without a doctor’s prescription, it is the gynecologist who is obliged to warn about the presence of contraindications.
- The most common contraindication is an allergic reaction to the plant. But since before taking it a person may not even suspect that he has such an allergy, at first it is worth paying special attention to the body’s reaction. If itching or redness occurs, you must stop treatment and inform your doctor.
- It is forbidden to douche with calendula, as well as drink decoctions and infusions from it while carrying a child. During pregnancy, a woman is generally not recommended to treat a tumor if it does not interfere with the development of the child. Because such treatment can provoke a hormonal surge, and predicting how this will affect pregnancy is very problematic.
- Tendency to form blood clots.
- Low blood pressure.
Treatment of fibroids with calendula has proven itself well. However, you should not rely only on herbal medicine; it is necessary to carry out complex treatment using hormonal drugs. And in case of large nodes that interfere with normal life, one should not refuse surgical intervention. Herbal medicine must be coordinated with the treating gynecologist, since he must prescribe medications taking into account all possible interactions of active substances.
Experience using calendula
In general, patient reviews of calendula as an antibacterial agent are positive. Many note its healing properties for uterine erosion and inflammatory processes of the internal genital organs. It also helped some with fibroids.
Valentina, 47 years old
“The doctor diagnosed me with fibroids 8 weeks ago. I was observed for about a year. She didn't grow. The gynecologist said that there was no need to treat it yet, since the tumor behaved passively. But I couldn't calm down. I rummaged through a bunch of information on the Internet, read a lot of forums. I decided to try herbal treatment.
Veronica, 34 years old
Anastasia, 45 years old
“A friend advised me to drink calendula for fibroids. She assured that the herb helped some friend of hers. I am, of course, skeptical of plants when it comes to tumors. But, just in case, I decided to consult a gynecologist.
Among traditional medicine in the treatment of uterine fibroids, one of the effective and proven remedies is the use of calendula, which can stop the growth of fibroids or slow it down.
Treatment of uterine fibroids with calendula is indicated only after assessing the condition of the body and the presence of extragenital pathology, which can only be adequately assessed by a doctor after examination and additional diagnostic methods.
Calendula in gynecology: uterine fibroids are a fairly common pathology that can be treated either with medication or surgery. And only in some cases is it possible to use traditional medicine, among which the use of calendula occupies one of the leading places. It is used in the form of a decoction, tincture, douching, and baths.
How to take calendula for uterine fibroids in the form of a decoction and how to prepare it? To do this, you need to take 200 ml of the decoction and drink it during the day, three times before meals. Repeat this for a month and after a ten-day break, continue taking the decoction again.
The infusion is prepared quite easily and quickly: you need to take 20 g of dry plant and pour 200 ml of boiling water, leave for 12 hours, strain and drink 100 ml in the morning and evening. The duration of the appointment is determined by the doctor individually.
As for using the decoction for douching, you must remember that before use you should strain it and douche at night for two weeks, which helps get rid of inflammation and pathogenic microorganisms.
Calendula tincture for uterine fibroids can be prepared at home quite simply or can be purchased at a pharmacy. To do this, take 5 g of plant flowers and pour 50 ml of alcohol and place in a dark place for a week, then strain and drink 15 drops three times a day, first dilute in a glass of water.
Calendula for uterine fibroids: its use is varied. In addition to the methods described above, vaginal tampons and suppositories, which can be purchased ready-made, are also widely used. Using the drug in candles is quite simple. They directly affect the lesion, conditionally - pathogenic microorganisms are not washed out of the vagina, unlike douching, but among the disadvantages of their use is dirty laundry and the likelihood of the candle melting in the hands.
Suppositories act on a specific focus of the uterine disease and do not wash away beneficial microorganisms from the internal environment. The downside is that the laundry gets dirty and the candles can melt in your hand.
Calendula for uterine fibroids: reviews indicate its use in complex treatment with drug treatment; due to its medicinal properties, it can influence the growth of fibroids, have an anti-inflammatory effect, antiseptic, wound healing, and also a sedative effect.
Calendula for uterine fibroids: reviews from those who took it testify to its positive characteristics and properties, but only after consultation with a doctor, since its use has a number of contraindications. Among them, the plant is used with caution for hypotension, allergies, pregnancy, and also with a high risk of blood clots. Calendula has found its beneficial properties in the treatment of not only fibroids, but also a number of other gynecological pathologies.
Many women use herbal tea based on calendula in the morning before meals for a month, and then after a 14-day break continue taking it again, which helps to consolidate the effect of the plant.
It is highly effective in combination with mistletoe, knotweed, mint, hops, oregano, celandine, plantain, birch buds and horsetail. It is often combined with nettle, yarrow, chaga, rose hips, celandine and viburnum. You can start taking all this only after consulting a doctor.
... and then I thought, why not try to get rid of my fibroids using traditional methods? What if it helps?
Here I will copy one article that I came across on the Internet, so as not to forget.
Of course, before taking any herbs, I will read the side effects and contraindications, and also consult a doctor (I hope she will not refuse to help me).
PS no, I understand that this is funny. (therefore I won’t mind grins in the comments) But I really want to hope =)
