• DISADVANTAGES OF PHARMATEX
The first inconvenience of this product is that you cannot use any soap for at least two hours before and two hours after using it, and of course, take a bath, swim in a pool, pond, etc. This is a mandatory condition, since at the slightest contact with soap, the drug stops working and the contraceptive effect is canceled.
The second, and from the point of view of users, the main disadvantage is the unpleasant sensations of both partners from how the drug turns into foam. This makes the process of sexual intercourse somewhat unpleasant, with everything, as they say, “following” from here (and in this case, both figuratively and in the literal sense of the word).
A burning sensation is often observed after use. In addition, you need to wait until the product dissolves (5-10 minutes), and if we talk about tablets or capsules, they often do not dissolve completely, which causes discomfort for both women and men.
In this sense, contraceptive creams are much better, and they act immediately after administration (there is no need to wait). However, all other unfavorable nuances remain, and the cost of creams is higher. About the same can be said about tampons: they act immediately, and even for a whole day (if you don’t take them out), but I personally have little idea how you can have quality sex with a tampon in the vagina, and how to remove then from there...
The use of vaginal contraceptives during intimacy is often not psychologically comfortable for both. The stains left on the bed linen after use also add their “dark paint”.
In general, the drug has many disadvantages, so many women prefer to use it only when other methods of contraception are impossible or in addition to them (for example, when they missed taking a hormonal contraceptive pill or mini-pill). And as soon as the opportunity arises, they immediately change the method of preventing unwanted pregnancy.

Special instructions:
The effectiveness of contraception is associated solely with strict adherence to the rules of its use:
- insert the capsule (tablet, suppository, cream) so that the selected dosage form penetrates as deeply as possible into the vagina, preferably in a lying position;
- wait for the capsule or tablet to completely dissolve in the vagina for at least 10 minutes, for the suppository for at least 5 minutes, so that the active substance is completely released;
- be sure to introduce a new capsule (tablet, dose of cream, suppository) before each repeated sexual intercourse;
- It is prohibited to use soap for toileting the genitals 2 hours before sexual intercourse and for 2 hours after sexual intercourse, because soap, even in residual quantities, destroys the active ingredient of Farmatex;
- immediately after sexual intercourse, external toilet of the genital organs is possible only with clean water or with the help of a foaming product called Pharmatex, which does not contain soap, which contains benzalkonium chloride; vaginal irrigation is carried out 2 hours after sexual intercourse;
- with Pharmatex inserted into the vagina, you should not take baths, swim in the sea, pool or reservoirs due to the risk of reducing the subsequent contraceptive effect;
- since Pharmatex contains benzalkonium chloride, it is necessary to interrupt its use if any vaginal diseases occur or their exacerbation;
- if there is a need to treat vaginal diseases and/or prescribe any other vaginal medication, you must wait until the end of treatment before resuming (starting) contraception with Pharmatex.

- capsules;
- cream-gel.
According to the instructions for use of Pharmatex, it is necessary to use a contraceptive before each sexual intercourse to achieve the desired result. Suppositories, tablets or cream↑
Varieties of the drug "Pharmatex"
Pharmatex is produced in the form of tablets, suppositories, creams, capsules and tampons. Therefore, many women wonder which is better. It all depends on the individual characteristics of the woman. At a young age, when there are no problems with hydration, Pharmatex tablets may be more suitable.
They dissolve quickly at human body temperature, but without moisture they cannot be evenly distributed throughout the vagina.
With a sufficient amount of lubricant, the drug dissolves and has an enveloping effect. In accordance with the instructions, the tablet should be slightly moistened with water before administration.
Its spermicidal effect appears after approximately 15 minutes. You can wait a little longer, up to half an hour. The duration of action of the tablet is three hours. If you plan to have another sexual intercourse, you need to use a second Pharmatex tablet.
For women in the premenopausal period, Farmatex cream is preferable, which moisturizes as well as possible. This form of release is also suitable for those who do not want to administer the drug with their hands. The tube is equipped with a convenient dispenser. The effect of the cream occurs immediately after its administration. And the contraceptive effect lasts up to approximately 10 hours.
For Pharmatex suppositories this effect is quite moderate. They melt very quickly and envelop the vagina well. Some people complain that the candles leak a little. Women are concerned about whether this reduces the effectiveness of the medication. If the drug is used correctly, then the concentration of one suppository, as well as tablets or cream, is quite enough for one sexual act.
If intimacy is repeated, you need to use a second Pharmatex suppository. The effect of the drug in this form lasts about 4 hours. Suppositories melt very easily, so they cannot be held in your hands for a long time. It is even advisable to put it in the refrigerator for a while before use.
Also, when choosing the form of release of the drug, its cost plays an important role. For example, Pharmatex tablets cost about 300 rubles. Candles and cream – over 400 rubles.
• CONTRAINDICATIONS AND SIDE EFFECTS OF VAGINAL CONTRACEPTIVE
The risk of developing any side effects is minimal if the drug is used according to indications and in strictly recommended dosage. Sometimes allergic reactions are possible, in particular: itching, burning, contact dermatitis. If they occur, use of the drug should be stopped.
- When should you not use Pharmatex?
You should not use vaginal contraceptives if:
- 1. colpitis, bacterial vaginosis;
- 2. ulcerations, erosions and irritations of the mucous membrane of the uterus and vagina;
- 3. hypersensitivity of a woman to the components of the product.
