Pharmacological properties and composition

The active component of the drug is sodium aminodihydrophthalazindione. This is a substance of synthetic origin that has anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects.   3. The production of interferons increases, thanks to which the body better resists infections of various origins.
  4. The number of antibodies against a particular pathogen increases.

The drug is mainly excreted through the kidneys. The effect of use can last for 3 days.

Use of GALAVIT for acute inflammation of the uterine appendages

The steady increase in sexually transmitted infections, which in most cases are characterized by a chronic and recurrent course, dictates the need to develop new approaches to the treatment of patients with acute inflammation of the uterine appendages (AFIM). As a rule, the main component of complex therapy for such patients is antimicrobial drugs. At the same time, antibacterial agents often not only do not strengthen the human immune system, but, on the contrary, suppress it. At the same time, it is well known that immune disorders play an important role in the pathogenesis of inflammation. Moreover, sometimes only the inclusion of immunomodulatory agents in the complex of pharmacotherapy allows one to achieve a cure for diseases of viral etiology (Savelyeva I.S., 1999; Strizhakov A.N. et al., 2004). The purpose of our study was to assess the immune status and expression of cytokines in blood serum and biological fluids in patients with ARVO. Taking into account the results obtained, the feasibility of immunomodulatory treatment in this category of patients with the drug GALAVIT (galavit) produced by ZAO TsSM Medikor was justified.

A survey of 45 women with FFM aged 17–38 years was conducted. The control group consisted of 11 healthy women. All patients with ABPM at the initial visit complained of pain in the lower abdomen, the duration of which varied from one day to 3 months, increased body temperature to low-grade and febrile, general weakness, and decreased performance. Discharges from the genital tract of patients with OVPO were of a different nature - from sanguineous to mucopurulent with an unpleasant odor. Previous inpatient treatment for endometritis and salpingoophoritis was carried out in 34 (75.5%) patients. During vaginal examination, thickened, painful uterine appendages were palpated in all patients. An ultrasound scan did not reveal any volumetric pathological formations of the uterus, ovaries or fallopian tubes. In a clinical blood test, only 13 women showed an increase in the total content of blood leukocytes and ESR. A biochemical blood test and clinical urine test did not reveal any abnormalities.

In the acute phase of inflammation of the uterine appendages, a decrease in the activity of the cellular component of immunity was found in 18 (40.0%) patients. The detected decrease in the immunoregulatory (CD4/CD8+) and phagocytic index, as well as the total number and percentage of cytotoxic cells in the acute phase of inflammation in all subjects, regardless of the phase of the menstrual cycle, indicated a weakening of antiviral immunity and correlated with a low level of NK cells (CD16), which is typical for a viral infection. The disruption of the functional activity of the cellular component of immunity can be explained by the presence in the body of patients of a persistent viral infection, which leads to a decrease in the number of T-suppressors and inhibition of the antiviral activity of the body. The decrease in the total number of NK cells, as well as the number of phagocytic cells, is likely caused by the development of secondary bacterial infections.

High levels of circulating immune complexes (CIC), a decrease in the bactericidal properties of neutrophils, as well as the phagocytic index of microbial bodies and the absolute phagocytic index of microbial bodies were revealed, which required increasing the functional activity of neutrophils using immunocorrection.

The increased level of pro-inflammatory cytokines (interleukins IL-6, IL-8, IL-1-β, tumor necrosis factor TNF-α, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor GCSF, etc.) made it possible to judge the duration, extent of spread and severity of the inflammatory process. When studying the indicators of humoral immunity, a significant decrease in the level of serum IgA (1.75±0.15) was observed in 7 (15.5%) patients, which may indicate that the inflammatory process is older. The level of serum IgG in 7 (15.5%) patients was increased and amounted to 17.85±3.28 g/l, in 3 (6.67%) it was decreased (10.3±0.78 g/l), which could indicate immunodeficiency. In 9 (20.0%) patients, an increase in the level of serum IgM (3.75±1.43 g/l) was diagnosed. In 3 (6.67%) patients, a decrease in the level of serum IgM was observed (1.13±0.08 g/l), which may also indicate immunodeficiency.

In some patients, both a decrease in the amount of one of the immunoglobulins and an increase in the other were observed. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to judge the degree of immune system disorders based on the quantitative indicator of immunoglobulins. When studying the cytokine status in 43 (95.5%) patients with ABPM, a persistent decrease in the production of α- and γ-interferons (IFN) by blood cells was noted by almost two times.

Immunocorrection was carried out with the drug GALAVIT, which has anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties, which are caused by the activation of immunocompetent cells and the inhibition of pro-inflammatory blood cytokines. GALAVIT was administered to 29 patients with acute renal failure according to the following regimen: 100 mg intramuscularly for 10–15 days. The remaining 19 patients with ARVO made up the comparison group. All patients received complex therapy, including antimicrobial (cephalosporins, fluoroquinolones, imidazole derivatives, polyenes) and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

After treatment with GALAVIT, in 22 (75.8%) patients, the level of leukocyte α-IFN normalized, and the level of γ-IFN increased by 65% ​​from the initial values. Against the background of complex immunotherapy, the level of α-IFN normalized in 21 women, increased by 75% of the initial values ​​in 3, by 50% in 3, and by 30% in 2.

One month after treatment with GALAVIT, the total number of cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CD8+) in 9 (31.3%) patients was restored to physiological values ​​compared to the control group (healthy women). At the same time, activation of neutrophils, an increase in the phagocytic index and phagocytic number of microbial bodies, as well as the level of activated T-lymphocytes were noted. Restoration of absolute and relative indicators of mature B-lymphocytes was found in 11 (37.9%) women. The immunoregulatory index (CD4/CD8+) returned to normal in 14 (48.3%) patients. A predominance of levels of anti-inflammatory cytokines in the blood (IL-4, IL-10) was revealed, while the level of production in the blood serum of IL-1, IL-6 and TNF-α decreased slightly, which also correlated with a decrease in IgG titers and the disappearance of clinical manifestations inflammatory process. The onset of a period of remission and the absence of acute inflammation in all subjects of the main group was confirmed by a gradual decrease in the level of serum IgM.

Indicators of immune status tended towards positive dynamics in only 16 patients who received treatment according to the generally accepted regimen without immunotherapy. At the same time, they did not experience a decrease in the level of serum immunoglobulins (IgM), the absolute indicator of phagocytosis (phagocytic index of microbial bodies) did not change, and interferon status remained at the same level. As the results of our studies have shown, patients with AFPV are characterized by a Th-1 type of immune response due to an increase in the relative number of CD4 lymphocytes and suppression of local immune functions due to a decrease in the expression of adhesion molecules. When studying the cytokine status, the inflammatory cytokines GCSF, IL-6, IL-8, the levels of which are comparable both in blood serum and biological fluids, are pathognomonic for patients with ARVOM.

Thus, the study of all parts of the immune system makes it possible to determine the degree of anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antiproliferative activity of endogenous cytokines, the processes of their interaction with other immunocompetent cells, as well as to predict the course and outcome of FFM. The study proved the high clinical effectiveness of the drug GALAVIT, which has an anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory effect aimed at restoring the main components of the immune system.

There are immunostimulants on the market that stimulate the immune system, and there are immunomodulators that modulate the immune system, that is, they raise it where it is weak and do not touch it where it is normal.

Our first immunostimulant was IRS-19, based on bacterial lysates, it did not help us cope with bacteria in the nose, where did they come from, I wrote everything in this review.

I repeat, the child developed green snot after he went to kindergarten, he had white snot, and we washed him in the bathhouse. After that, he has green snot every month or two. So I concluded that this was a mistake!!!!!

With regard to viruses, immunomodulators can help, since the virus lives inside the cell, we do not have medicines for viruses, since it is very difficult to kill the virus without killing the cell itself, so here we can only increase immunity, I actually had experience of curing the papilloma virus a long time ago person, the drug Isoprinosine helped me then (if anyone needs it).

But with regard to bacteria, there is a different treatment tactic. Only an antibiotic can kill bacteria. And only then, to avoid re-infection, you need to take immunomodulators, but you don’t need to hope that this alone will get rid of the infection.

My child and I constantly drank the same antibiotic, I drank amoxicillin, and the pediatrician constantly prescribed him Augmentin.

This was the biggest mistake of our treatment! I have already written that only an antibiotic can kill an infection, but the main thing is to choose the right antibiotic.

Amoxicillin acts only on those bacteria that do not produce beta-lactamase, such antibiotics are called beta-lactam, but in our country, apparently, they produce it and are not killed by this antibiotic, since there is an exacerbation every month and you just need to change the antibiotic and that’s it.

I passed a culture test from the child’s nose, hemophilus influenzae and moraxella were cultured, and the ENT specialist prescribed him the antibiotic Klacid. It is a macrolide and kills bacteria that produce beta-lactamase.

The last time I took the antibiotic Azithromycin.

I tried to give the child some other dietary supplements to boost immunity. All this does not work, it only gave him an allergy, for which it took a long time to be treated. All these vitamins are all a sham, and he already turned out to be allergic to ascorbic acid.

My advice and my conclusion is that when treating bacterial acute respiratory viral infections, do not focus on immune agents, as I thought at first, you just need to look for the antibiotic that will definitely kill the infection. That's all.

The child has already taken Augmentin 4 times, what’s the point, after a month the snot is green again, which means the antibiotic needs to be changed, which means the bacteria are resistant to it and are not completely killed.

And only then, if the culture is clear, you can take immunomodulators to avoid getting infected again.

Although Galavit's instructions indicate that it can be used in conjunction with antibiotics.

It is possible, but if, as in my case, the antibiotic does not completely kill the infection, then Galavit will not save or help. I got sick again after taking amoxicillin and Galavit, because the bacteria were resistant to this antibiotic.

These are my conclusions. This is my experience. This is my personal opinion, if yours is different, then we just have different opinions.

But still, I advise you to try Galavit, maybe it will suit you and like it, everything is individual.

I'm cured! When I got sick again, I took the antibiotic Azithromycin and at the same time boosted my immunity with the drug TIMALIN.

Now I'm not sick.
